More and more, patients are concerned about exposure to radiation and rightfully so! Our general dentistry patients not only benefit from the protection of lead thyroid and body aprons, but we utilize digital x-rays which emits up to 90% less radiation than traditional film x-rays used in some offices.
Digital Intra-Oral Cameras
We utilize state-of-the art digital Intra-Oral cameras during each stage of our patients dental procedures. They are used to provide additional support for recommended treatment, processing of insurance claims and to help in the creation of and documentation of our patients treatment plan. We also use them to share with patients the improvement of their oral health by following our providers recommendations!
Health Focused Dentistry
There is no greater wealth than health! In dentistry, by the time a tooth hurts, it’s typically a sign of advancing decay and additional out of pocket costs too. One way to curb the out of pocket costs is to visit the dental office as frequently as deemed necessary by your general dentist or dental hygienist. The health of each patients mouth differs and bacteria builds up differently in each person. Partnering with your dental hygienist to determine what preventative care regimen is appropriate for your oral health will allow you to minimize the burden of more costly dental expenses, improve your health and keep your smile bright!
Bleeding, puffy gums are not normal or healthy. Science shows a direct link between oral health and overall body health. Bleeding is a sign of infection and the bacteria from your gums is setting off other alarms in your body too. *Periodontal disease increases risk of heart disease, stroke, respiratory diseases, cancers such as kidney, pancreatic and blood cancers.
At Raintree Dental, our periodontal program is designed to get results. We utilize a precise treatment schedule and advanced technology that helps to eliminate the harmful bacteria that eats away at the bone structure that keeps your teeth in place. The great news is you will not experience any down time, pain or problems following your periodontal treatment in our office.
Composite Fillings (White Fillings)
At our general dentistry office, we only place white, composite fillings. We have not placed mercury-amalgam fillings in many years. Composite fillings are very durable and they provide for a more aesthetic look for patients. Say goodbye to silver!
For many of you who have had a crown placed by other dental providers, the experience can be quite a burden. At the majority of dental offices, after a general dentist prepares a tooth for a crown, you receive a plastic temporary crown for 2 weeks and then must return for the placement of the permanent crown, missing more work or personal time. With our general dentist, you are in and out with a perfectly fitting crown in 1.5 hours. You’ll be able to eat what you want right away! No additional cost or visits required.
The use of lasers in dental services has had a significant impact on the quality of care that were able to provide and are partly responsible for the painless, incredible results our providers are able to produce. We typically recommend lasers when gums inflam, bleed and during any treatment for gum disease.
Close to 43,250 Americans will be diagnosed with oral or pharyngeal cancer this year. It will cause over 8,000 deaths, killing roughly 1 person per hour, 24 hours per day. Of those 43,250 newly diagnosed individuals, only slightly more than half will be alive in 5 years. While we can’t cure oral cancer our office is committed to technology that provides early detection, Oral ID. Oral ID is a special light that we use to look for abnormalities in the pink tissue. Typcially cancerous leisons do not allow for the flow of blood. When detected, our office will send patients for biopsy of the tissue. We have been responsible for extending the lives of a number of patients.
